The App Store is not the “gold mine” some would have you believe
Steve Demeter has done really well in the iTunes App Store. He made $250,000 in profits in the first two months of release of his game “Trism”. His success has sparked more than a few articles claiming that developers can “strike it rich” in the iTunes App Store.

In an effort to boost sales of the AppleTV, Apple is now promoting the device on iTunes as a way to “unlock your music”.
The ad notes how you can connect your AppleTV with a single cable to your home theater system, then seamlessly connect and play your entire iTunes library. It also covers Genius playlists, but never once mentions television shows, movies, or podcast, in its pitch.
Will this help push more AppleTV units?
Court dismisses Psystar’s antitrust claim against Apple
A federal judge has tossed out the antitrust lawsuit against Apple that was filed by “hackentosh” maker Psystar earlier this year. The lawsuit was seen by many as Psystar’s best chance of remaining in business.

Google Mobile App’s Voice Search is here…but is it any good?
Last night Google’s much hyped update to their Google Mobile App which features an advanced voice search that is supposed to be incredibly accurate. So, after downloading the update, I decided to look around my office and put it to the test.
I tried 10 times to get the App to search for what I was asking for - and here are the results.
1) 47 US Dollars in Euros - Worked - but didn’t do the currency converstion for me, so I tried again.

The Austin Maker Faire here in Texas has a lot of really cool stuff to look at. So much so that you can miss the small stuff sometimes. Luckily, an eagle-eyed photographer caught this little gem - an Apple Store has apparently opened up at the miniature main street created by the Texas LEGO User Group.
The group managed to put together a town with a layout that included working trains and motors. You can find more of their stuff here.
Apple discontinues the 23 inch Cinema Display
In a turn that should come as a surprise to no one, Apple has discontinued the 23″ Cinema Display. After Apple introduced the LED-backlit 24″ Display at the special event last month, it was only a matter of time before the 23″ model was out the door.
